Epoxy Based Filled Floor Coating Primer

Description:

It is An Epoxy Based, Double Component, Low Viscosity, Filled Floor Coating Primer.

Areas of Use:

It is used as a primer for all epoxy and polyurethane floor coverings on normal and extremely absorbent surfaces in priming concrete surfaces, cement screeds, and epoxy mortars.

It can also be used as filling and surface smoothing mortar by mixing with quartz sand.

Advantages:

It is easy to apply.

It has high adhesive power.

It has good penetration property.

It can also be used outdoors.

It is impermeable, seals the gaps and pores.

It is resistant to abrasion after curing.

It has low viscosity.

*The above values were obtained as a result of laboratory experiments.

Application Information

Surface Temperature: +10°C minimum / +30°C maximum

Environmental Temperature: +10°C minimum / +30°C maximum

Surface Humidity Content: Humidity ratio <4% by weight

Full Curing Time: ~ 7 days

Relative Humidity: 80% maximum

Pot Life:

+10°C ~ 50 minutes

+20°C ~ 25 minutes

+30°C ~ 15 minutes

*These values are valid for 23°C of temperature and 50% relative humidity. Times may vary depending on ambient conditions.

Surface Preparation:

The concrete surface should be clean, strong and should have sufficient compressive strength (minimum 25 N/mm²).

The surface should be clean, dry and free from foreign substances such as dirt, oil, coating, surface curing materials.

If necessary, the surface layer should be cleaned with equipment like blast rock. The dusty surface created in the environment should be swept.

Mixture Preparation:

Component B of ADEMIX 712 EPOXY PRIMER D should be added into component A and be stirred with an aid of 300-400 rpm for 3 minutes until a homogeneous mixture is obtained.

To make sure that the mixture is made completely, the mixture is put in another container and stirred again for another 1 minute.

After the mixture is prepared, if quartz sand is required, it should be stirred for another 2 minutes until a homogeneous mixture is obtained.

Over stirring should be avoided to minimize air entrainment.

For the preparation of mortars, a coiler can, paddle or flat type mixer should be used. Concrete type (free-fall) mixers should not be used.

Application:

Primer:

ADEMIX 712 EPOXY PRIMER D is applied to the floor with the help of an unused comb or roller. During the application, care should be taken to propagate the material homogeneously on the previously prepared surface. Irregularities on the surface cause the formation of capillary active gaps and bubble formation after curing the material. A second layer can be applied to make sure the gaps are fully closed.

Levelling mortar:

Leveling mortar is applied with a notched trowel or rake according to the desired thickness. Rough surfaces need to be levelled first.

Undercoating:

ADEMIX 712 EPOXY PRIMER D should be poured on the surface and propagated with a notched trowel. It should be ensured that a homogeneous thickness is obtained by traversing over it with the roller immediately after propagating on the surface; after application, the surface should  be dulled by sprinkling quartz sand in between 15. and 30. minutes.

Adherence Bridge:

It is applied with a roller, brush or rake.

Mortar coating / repair mortar:

Sand added mortar is propagated on the adherence bridge which is still sticky, by using leveling laths and within a short time, the surface is smoothed by compressing, using a trowel or teflon coated finishing machine (20-90 rpm).

ADEMIX 712 EPOXY PRIMER D For the best results in its application, ambient temperature should be in between +10°C and +30°C

and necessary measures should be taken in bad weather conditions.

-Processability and curing times vary according to the ambient temperature. The times are shorter at high temperatures, and longer at low temperatures.

-The application area should be protected from heavy weather conditions for 24 hours after the application. (sun, wind, frost, rain, etc.)

– The pre-stored packages to be opened for application should be ready for use at an average of 25°C.

-Upon the completion of the application, the coating should not be exposed to water directly for at least 24 hours.

-Used tools and equipment should be cleaned with cellulosic thinner or suitable solvent after application.

– In places where humidity is high, ADEMIX 712 EPOXY PRIMER D should not be used.

-In order to ensure proper aggregate size distribution, trials should be made for epoxy mortar mixtures.
