Ademix Retarder

Set Retarder Concrete Admixture

Description:

It is the concrete retarder that does not negatively affect the final strengths of concrete.

Areas of Use:

It is used in large volume concrete castings, in cases where concrete transportation is carried out over long distances, in concrete productions where hydration heat control is required such as mass concrete, in concrete castings in areas with high air temperature, and in castings where the cold joint is not required.

Advantages:

It extends the setting time of concrete.

It allows keeping the setting times under control.

It has no negative impact on final strength.

Chlorine free

Technical Specifications:

Color: Brown

Density: 1,20 ± 0,05 g/cm³

Chlorine content: < 0,1%

*These values are valid for 23°C and 50% relative humidity. Times may vary depending on ambient conditions.

Application:

Depending on the performance expected from concrete, 0.5% – 1.3% of the binder ratio (500-1300 grams for 100 kg of cement) is used.

* The most efficient additive dose should be determined based on cement and aggregate quality, water/cement ratio, and ambient temperature.

ADEMIX RETARDER is used by directly adding to the domestic water, or by adding to the fresh concrete in which some of the domestic water has already been added. In this case, it is necessary to increase the stirring time a little. When used more than the specified rate, setting times are significantly extended.

Warnings:

The usage rate should be determined by prior laboratory experiments depending on the desired concrete class and properties.

It can be used with mineral additives (slag, micro silica, etc.) in cases where a high level of the binding material is required.

It can be used with all polymer, naphthalene, and lignin-based additives.

Polypropylene and steel fibers can be used against shrinkage cracks.

It must be stored in its original package between +5 ̊C and + 35 ̊C and by protecting from direct sunlight. If the material, that is not stored in suitable environments, freezes, it should be left to thaw at room temperature without being exposed to direct heat. Meanwhile, it should be stirred mechanically.

Reference Standard:

It is in accordance with Table 8 of TS EN 934-2 standard.
